According to German folklore, Easter baskets began with the Easter Hare. He would leave baskets of candy, colored eggs and other goodies for kids each Easter morning. When German settlers moved to the United States, they continued the tradition that we still participate in today.

Easter baskets are a fun, easy way to brighten up someone’s day! They don’t always have to be filled with candy and eggs, though. Why not try a few unexpected treats like a light-up watch or colorful socks! Have fun with your basket and treat them to a cute hat or two.

We think of Easter as a time to get new clothes for church along with new shoes. Don’t get me wrong…new shoes are good too!!  But, this year, think outside the box…or maybe I should say...the basket!
